When we think about games, some of our thoughts come to mind at once, and we have many thoughts and ideas in our head at once. When we think about game design to me, I see a design process that involves a lot of thinking, a lot of thinking and reflecting, a lot of thinking and reflecting, and, well, just thinking.
A game designer is someone who thinks about games, and to me that means the design process of a game. I think of a designer as someone who thinks about what the game should be like, what it should be like to play the game, and how to make it a fun experience for the player.
