This is a new podcast project that I started a few weeks ago with my friend and fellow blogger, charles white jr. We’ve been working on this project together since he was in high school. It’s been a lot of fun and his feedback has been really helpful. So I wanted to share it with you.
I am a HUGE fan of the Hunger Games movies and the novels they are based on. I love how the books follow a very similar storyline to the movies. There’s a lot of suspense, action, and drama in the movies. But there’s also a lot of friendship and acceptance. And because of this I have a lot of trouble watching the Hunger Games movies. They have this crazy ending… I dont agree with them at all.
I can’t speak for any other author, but I have seen a lot of people who have read the Hunger Games novels and the Hunger Games movie adaptations have this same thing. A lot of people think the ending of the Hunger Games movies is the same as the books, but it’s not. In fact, the books are about a character named Katniss who is a little more willing to make friends than the movies are.
If there was ever an example of a movie so good it would really piss me off, then this is it. I love the Hunger Games movies: they are so engaging, so full of spectacle and so good at building tension. The Hunger Games novels, however, are not that good as far as I’m concerned.
The Hunger Games books are probably the best written in the Hunger Games franchise. The Hunger Games movies are good, but the books are better. They are far better written (and edited) than the movies.

The Hunger Games movies are better written than the books are a bit of a mixed bag. While the books, for want of a better term, are mostly story driven, the Hunger Games movies often aren’t. The movies do a pretty good job of telling the story of Katniss (the youngest daughter of the Capitol leader, President Snow) trying to survive a horrible school shooting, but the books are much more character driven and more focused on Katniss’s own experience.
