I will admit that I am a big fan of crossfit. I am not at all the typical gym person, but I do enjoy getting out of my comfort zone. This means going to competitions, participating in the workouts, and learning new skills. I am not the biggest fan of doing CrossFit on a regular basis, but I do love it when I find myself in a location where I can go and do it regularly.
So many times I find myself doing crossfit for the purpose of competing and winning. I have tried CrossFit before, but it made me feel as though I was competing against myself. I have to be careful not to overemphasize the fact that I am competing against myself for these competitions. I have to be careful not to overfocus on getting a good time in the gym and losing myself in the process.
I’ll be the first to admit that I feel like I have some “competition anxiety” when I compete. The thing is, there is no such thing as competition anxiety. We all know that you can either compete or not compete, but it’s not the same thing and everyone is different. You can’t really compete with yourself.
The thing is though, that if you are competing with yourself, your body will take over. You will find that your heart rate will be higher, your breathing will become more erratic, and your performance will be less consistent. That’s okay though, because the point is to get a good time in the gym and not waste your time doing anything else.
Crossfit is a sport that requires a certain level of fitness. It’s hard to compete with yourself, so the best way to get in shape is to do something that you enjoy. Like crossfit games. Crossfit games are exercises that are designed to be fun. You can do crossfit games at home or at the gym but the point is to get a good time in the gym and not waste your time doing anything else.

I like this because it is just a workout. You might have a coach, but if there is no one watching you, you are free to do what you enjoy and learn what works for you.
