The gameplay is simple and repetitive, and the level design is so boring that it’s almost annoying.
Cave Story is one of the first games that I had any sort of fun with. The first puzzle I played was an interesting puzzle about a treasure chest that you had to open, and it was basically the same puzzle you would play in all the other games. Cave Story was actually the first game I ever played where I was happy with my progress. There are a lot of puzzles that have you playing the same way over and over again, and I never had to do anything more than start over.
You can also play Cave Story without being able to find the treasure chest. You just have to find a cave with some interesting or dangerous looking things inside it. I would imagine most people are going to enjoy that, but if you want the most frustrating part of Cave Story, you have to play the game and not be able to find the treasure chest.
Cave Story is also really fun because of its short length. If you have a lot of patience you may not want to play it for more than two hours, but if you’re looking for something to do while waiting for lunch or whatever, Cave Story is the perfect game to do it.
Cave Story also has a very short development cycle, so you can expect it to be a bit laggy and buggy. I say “it’s a bit laggy and buggy” because the game’s design is pretty much all about speed and gameplay.
