I have a confession to make. I am a huge fan of video games. I spend most of my free time playing games, and I watch the news for videos of people in their most creative and brilliant states. I have even been known to play a game or two when I’m stuck. I admit, I am a gamer.
We all know that we all love video games. When we play a game, we can forget our cares, worries, and woes as we are immersed in the world we create. We can forget our worries and fears as we are captivated by the world we create.
That’s why it’s so frustrating when we hear comments like, “I just finished playing COD: Tiberian Sun.” COD is a game that was created by a company, Infinity Ward, who now wants to bring it to our living rooms. But, as you know, you can play the games as easily as you can read the news. This is because video games are made to stimulate the imagination.
So why is this happening? Why is Infinity Ward putting COD into our living rooms like this? Why is this happening to this game? It seems like a stupid idea. Like, I don’t know who was the first person to play this game, but they did something stupid. I would hope that the video you see in your living room is the first time you’ve ever actually played COD.
That’s because people play video games for different reasons, and COD was built to stimulate the mind as much as it does the stomach. In fact, it’s hard to imagine a game that could be better for the mind and less for the stomach. COD may be built for the mind, but the stomach wins out here.
I can hear the gears turning.
I know what you’re thinking (or thinking about). How can you play a game that involves shooting people through the screen for 40 seconds in a game that has a lot of explosions and gore? Well, you can play COD.Thats because its very easy to make your way through the game. And that’s what you get for putting yourself through a few hours of mindless, high-intensity shooting.
Some people go to these games to actually be entertained, not just to escape. So it’s not a problem if you find your mind wandering if a game is too easy. COD is an incredibly simple game that requires no extra effort to get through, so it’s perfectly okay to play at your own pace. The problem is when you reach the end of the game and start to lose interest.
The problem is that you don’t actually want to play the game anymore. You know you should have been more involved in the story but you just couldn’t get in the mood to do that. So you just let it go and hope that your next opportunity to play will give you the motivation to get into the game.
I guess the problem is not that you want to get addicted to the game, it’s that you just can’t come up with a way to stay interested enough to keep playing. The only solution to that problem is to stop playing and start going back to the beginning of the game. And that’s not actually that difficult, its just really boring.
