We all want to change, yet I hate games that play out the same scenarios too much, when they could tell a different story or different gameplay. And that goes for all games. For example, what if the game only had a few levels? What if it was a story-driven game where you killed the bad guy but you didn’t really get to know him. This would have the same problems as the gamecube games, but in a more profound way.
The problem here is that we are looking at a generic type of game, that could be anything. This is what we hate the most, because we think it’s the worst type of game. What if the game was a very story-driven game, where you didnt really get to know the characters, but they’re actually great or annoying. This would be the best type of game, because we would get to see them as our characters.
This is what happens when you try to create a generic game around the idea of a story, and not a generic game around the idea of an action game. The only way to do this is to give our players the game world of their choosing. If we want them to be cool, we should create a game world that they can just go down and experience.
Gamecube games are the kind of thing that are designed with this in mind. We have, in fact, made our own generic game called Mummy on the Gamecube. It’s an action game in which our players are as dumb as the monsters they’re fighting. We did this by making a game world where we give our players a choice between being the killer or the hero.
